Our small molecules selectively inhibit the bacterial enzyme that produces BM01 - preventing the effector from ever reaching the concentration that drives disease.
02 — THE MiDE FRAMEWORK
From a general principle to a precision therapy for Alzheimer's.
MiDE — the Microbiome-Derived Effector framework — describes how a molecule made by gut bacteria can become a biochemical driver of disease. We follow that logic from its broadest form down to a single, addressable target in Alzheimer's.

Bacteria in the gut produce small effector molecules that enter circulation and signal throughout the body.
Effectors become drivers
Above a critical concentration, an effector stops being benign and begins to actively drive disease biology.
BM01 drives cognitive decline
In Alzheimer's, the effector is BM01. We block the enzyme that makes it — holding BM01 below threshold.
MECHANISM
Keep BM01 below the threshold, and cognition is protected.
Cognitive decline begins once circulating BM01 crosses a critical threshold. Our small molecules inhibit its biosynthesis — holding levels in the safe range over time.
